An important meeting was held in Brussels, organized by the European Performers’ Organization (AEPO). IPOA was invited to the event as the only association accredited in Georgia in the field of copyright and related rights.
During the meeting in Brussels, several European associations expressed their willingness to cooperate with IPOA.
European associations in Brussels have already expressed their willingness to cooperate with IPOA.
“We were honored to be invited by AEPO-ARTIS to participate in a meeting in Brussels on the topic of “EU Enlargement and Performers’ Rights”. AEPO is an umbrella federation of performers’ collective management organizations, which unites 39 organizations. Here we introduced the audience to the activities of IPOA, which is the only accredited copyright protection association in Georgia. We talked about the latest developments and achievements in this field.”
In conclusion, such events are of great importance, as they provide countries with the opportunity to share their experiences and perspectives. These discussions contribute significantly to the development of the field.
“As for international agreements, negotiations are actively underway with European associations. Since they did not want to use the GCA agreement with IPOA, it became necessary to communicate directly with various associations around the world. This is a rather laborious process that takes time, but I would like to say that the negotiation process is proceeding successfully. At this stage, we have several dozen contracts, to which many more will be added by the end of the month, as the meeting with them in Brussels turned out to be very fruitful.” – Stefan Schulz, Director of International Relations at IPOA.
